Bracketing HDR Mirror Issue Part 2 - Can anyone help?

Posted 31/01/2014 - 16:07 Link
HI

Back to this again! ARGH!!!!

Earlier in the week (John Riley thanks) I was asking about HDR, bracketing and more specifically mirror up function.

It appears that the K-5 cannot mirror up in between bracketing exposures before goin into Photomatix.

When I set the camera up, focus shooting in AV mode, it doesnt matter if I am in Live view mode or not you can hear the mirror open and close in between exposures. Very careful study of the photos before going into photomatix or vice versa reveals slight movement.

Is there any possibility of getting mirror lock up for this connundrum?

I am choosing all the correct allignment tools in Photomatix but its definately not giving me the sharp images I desire.

Fed up!

Just tried it on K5iis and this works:

1. Set custom menu C2.9 "One Push Bracketing"
2. Use Av mode (to fix the aperture)
3. Use fixed ISO
4. Engage Live View
5. Hit shutter

When using Live View with One-Push Bracketing the mirror stays up

(There's still a bit of a slap, but this is the shutter re-arming. I took the lens off and checked the mirror stayed up!)

This is for MattMatic, I have tried this, luckily I have several K-5iis bodies because every time I follow item 5 ("hit the shutter") something falls off the camera. Anyone got a welding torch?
