I once yearned to own one of these and last week found an immaculate example, complete with standard lens, in a junk shop, for £18.00. The shutter fired but the meter battery seemed to be spent.

I didn't weaken though. I've enough old cameras from film days to sink a battleship and I thought that someone would one day buy it and use it properly. It was nice to hold one, though.
Best wishes,

Andrew

£18 is a very good price. It wouldn't still be on the shelf in a shop if I'd seen it!

Unfortunately, the shops I've seen have a more inflated idea of prices.

looks to be in much better condition than mine - I would not have been able to resist!
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

I'm not in the business of dealing in camera gear just to make a few bob, it seems a bit shallow and mercenary. A bargain which I genuinely need and intend using is another matter, of course.

Hopefully it'll go to a good home where it'll be cherished and USED. I'd love to see someone out and about with it but I suppose it's unlikely.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Nice one but it would be better if you can purchase a brand new Pentax so you can use it according to your passion. It can cost a lot higher but it will surely worth the price. I'm sure the previous owner of that camera from the junk shop disposed it because he can no longer use it appropriately.

I had one of those once, that a hitch-hiker in Botswana left in my car. I only found the camera a few days later, and had no way of tracing him, so kept it. I used it quite a lot, for 15 years or so, then lost it myself, while moving house. I always hoped whoever found it got some use from it too.
