Well, I think the first two are excellent. I love the way the eye is drawn into the picture in the second one.

Firstly, and most importantly, those are great pictures for your first offering on here!
I like the dynamic range of the 2nd and 3rd shot - for many people they'd have to use HDR to get results like that, so you both show the abilities of the Kx and your own skill with careful exposure! Well done!
Groyne doesn't quite work for me, not sure why, but crashing waves are extremely difficult to capture the energy...
The concept of the End of the Line is good (I am a sucker for rusty old tracks...), maybe try a little lower, and crop the sky out completely?
Look forward to seeing more!

Some nice shots. You seem to have made the most of
what obviously wasn't a beautiful summer day.

It's good to see your work here Alan, ditto re comments on the shots above.

Thanks for the kind comments. I should mention that, I have darkened the skies and uplifted the foregrounds. Flossie, funnily enough I like The Groyne best of all. Probably to do with my amazement that I can happily use an ISO of 1250. The railway line didn't work for me. Too cluttered. I was planning to put it in The "Industrial" photo competition, but think its too cluttered. I did try portrait format too.

It would work as a portrait Alan, but with a much tighter crop using the same orientation.
Darkening those 'grey' areas would give it substantially more character IMO.

First two shots are wonderful!.....the second two are out of focus in the foreground, the piles especially are rather off putting, and the eye is drawn to them.....but on the whole a really good effort...well done...........Ken

How about cropping it square then boosting contrast with an S-shaped curves adjustment something like this?:

I'll delete this image if you want me to.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I prefer iBergs version of the tracks. I like the first two as well. The horizon needs straightening in Jetty. Driftwood doesn't work for me I'm afraid as it isn't sharp enough. With Groyne I can't make up my mind - I think I'd like to see the scene with more groyne in the frame (and the horizon straightened a smidgeon). I always like to see the sea though, being far removed from it now.
