Black and White photos - critique please

Took these photos a few days ago on my K100D, converted them using the Photoshop channel mixer and adjusted levels afterwards. The sky on both of them is a little burn't out, should've used a grad filter. Let me know your thoughts and how I could improve the framing...I know I cut the top corner off the building on the second pic!

You can still save your sky by selecting it in Photoshop using the selection tool of your choice and applying levels and/or curves adjustments.

You could even use Channel Mixer selectively on different parts of the image.

I did do that with the lasso tool, but there is very little if any detail left in the white clouds. Methinks I'll have to go back and hope for a day not quite so bright or use an ND grad filter. I did actually have one with me, but I was too lazy to attach it!!
