It's been a while since I've taken the big gun out early in the morning as I've been concentrating more on landscapes recently, so with the knowledge that it was going to be a cloud free morning I decided to go and look for some Water Rails that had been spotted the night before.
Didn't get the Water Rails but did get a couple of unexpected visitors instead! Nothing special but best of each for me!
Did you get the mink with the big gun??It's been a while since I've taken the big gun out early in the morning as I've been concentrating more on landscapes recently, so with the knowledge that it was going to be a cloud free morning I decided to go and look for some Water Rails that had been spotted the night before.

I've never managed to see a water rail, but I have hear one when I used to live close to a nature reserve (Winnal Moors in Winchester) so would love to see you post any pictures you get of one.
The bittern is a great picture, I've got two bitterns near by, one (the feathered kind) in a glass case on a shelf in my hall, the other is a bit bigger and an occasional visitor to the bottom of my garden.....
