Bentley Badge

I was in Canary Wharf today (12/06/09), and they had some sort of Motor Expo goin' on, there weren't many cars really, but they did have the McLaren F1 car, Hamilton's own from last year.

I only took a couple of pics and they were only detail shots. I don't like takin' pictures of the whole car 'cos I hate all the useless background details that get included in the shot, includin' people.

Here is a Bentley detail shot. I took this 'cos I thought that the grill had a nice similarity with the winged badge.

I like photographs of car badges, that ones nice and the colours perfect for a Bentley.

A be-winged black label - surely there is no sweeter sight?

You've done a good job of avoiding reflections in the chromework but I think I can spot you just below the badge. When I'm out shooting cars (which is most of my photography if I'm honest) I've found it's impossible to avoid reflections in anything other than a controlled studio environment; as days like that come along once in a blue moon I've accepted and started working with the reflections instead. Cars parked under cloudscapes (either fluffy white Simpsons-style or moody stormy) can look fabulous, as can those under overhanging foliage. If I was in London I'd look for some of your trademark architectural skylines - you have a good eye for those after all! This particular picture doesn't work for me because the reflections are a bit distracting and difficult to fathom - I know you couldn't choose where the car was parked but hey, you do live in London so it's not like there's any shortage of other Bentleys to have a crack at!

Thanks guys.

Hefty, I may live in London, but these things generally reside out of harms way I guess. To date, the only things I see on the street is the odd Porsche Boxster parked up.
I am always on the lookout for a car that can offer an abstract image.

I'm currently lookin' for a VW Lupo, I like the way the front headlights are arranged for an abstract image.

Good choice! A Lupo does have a certain look from the front so good luck finding one in the right place

Here is a toned B&W, Martin. I also applied a slight vignette.

I like the mono better Pauly the contrasting black and silver in the grill with the more muted top section. Nice one

I prefer the original. For me, the reflections are more obvious in the mono version.
