Being Different

The general perception is that togs that get published use Canon & Nikon. I just thought I would post this for two reasons. Firstly yes I am proud and want people to know, but more importantly, I thought it would provide proof that the brand of camera is not important to an editor. So feel proud to be different and focus on taking images. I guess I would class myself as a semi professional who would like to be professional and will use Pentax as long as it meets my needs and don’t feel that I should be shooting any specific brand. I know a lot of people ask about Pentax Pro shooters on the web and just thought this might encourage people to think about the image not the brand?

The image is in Yorkshire Life Magazine, August issue.

Well done!

Picture editors will be after great pictures, they won't care what they were shot on. Unless of course they are sent to Pentax User, or Olympus User, or Nikon User.....then it will be relevant.

Many Thanks John. When i am at events with a press pass, togs are asking more questions about Pentax and in a good way too.

Nice one, I have never been asked by a client what I shoot with and no one can tell from an image what it was made with either

Congratulations Fletcher, sounds like you are doing a good job promoting the brand.

Harking back to a similar thread discussion with Gary (cabstar) a week or so ago i still think that Ricoh is missing an opportunity to maximise the brand benefit by not offering incentives/reward for people who get published and/or use their Pentax equipment professionally.
