Not sure what you mean by 'sock' TBH.
Tha classic Beauty Dish is this link and coupled with this link produces a sublime effect. Not cheap though but you can get copies of sorts on eBay.

You could try giving Damian McGillicuddy a ring. He supplies his own beauty dish so might be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Cheers all, I never even realised calumet had a store in Manchester, may pass by there and ask them today .
With regards to what I am after, if you have a look at Joel Grimes beauty dish setup he uses one on the front of his beauty dish, its sort of like a honeycomb grid.

I just had a look at a Joel Grimes video, you can buy those things on ebay, just search for beauty dish and a number of Chinese sellers have them , but you could make one easily enough with some white nylon and knicker elastic.

I've decided to have a go at making one of the DIY ones for my flashgun but it seems as though you cannot buy the diffuser on its own anywhere here in the UK
