Batteries for Spotmatic F

While searching the internet and magasines for batteries for my older Spotmatics I have come across PX625's for a much cheaper than normal price (less than 1 each as opposed to 5+) - the cells in question are made by Panasonic but I note that they are rated at 1.5v. The cells that I currently use in the Spotmatic F are only rated at 1.35v, but are designated as PX625.

Any views on using the 1.5v rated cells? Has anybody tried them?

I understand that it is very important to use the correct 1.35v cells to avoid inaccurate meter readings and possibly damage to the meter circuit.
Best regards, John

The Spotty F can handle a voltage different from it's specified 1.3 volts.
It has an electrical bridge circuit in it's power/metering circuit, and can function quite well with a 1.5 VDC battery, such as the Varta V 625 U Alkaline battery, which has been made to fit the battery compartment on the F perfectly.
This is not true of other Spotmatics, but it is of the F...
