The battery that cmae with my k20d has never been drained in the 3 weeks Ive had it, went down to the half bar and was charged, then used, charged again (before half bar showed) and since then Ive taken over 631 photos with it still showing 'full' on the battery display :

Yes, mine is set to three minutes.

I'll try not to get paranoid about battery life!!! Perhaps it is because as a child I used to eke as much life as possible out of (expensive to me) batteries by warming them on a heater...
