Barons in Salisbury, Wiltshire

Salisbury has celebrated the magna Carta and these barons have appeared all over the city, painted by local artists they will be auctioned off in October. I went round photographing them, I probably haven't got all of them, as there are 25 apparently.

A very interesting set, particularly like the "Love Hearts" one

That's a nice little project well executed. No.4 looks a bit creepy. I'd not heard of these before but i'm sure locally it must have created a lot of excitement and interest...hopefully the town has benefited financially.

It's a good way of exploring the city, the one above looks like the actor Gregory Peck.

What a fun project, well done you for photographing them. The reclining monk looks like he drunk a little too much ale.
Each of the barons has a furtive, almost guilty look, perhaps they were regretting forcing King John to sign the Magna Carta.
I can imagine that after a boisterous night out in the pubs of Salisbury at least one of the Barons is likely to end up in the river. Retribution for Runnymede perhaps?

Great idea and great images

You resisted the selfie then
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

A wonderfully fun and colourful set.
(If one used a beach-casting rod as a selfie-stick, one could take self portraits which include things like the Forth Rail Bridge or the Empire State building in the back-ground. Just an idea.)
Best wishes,

Andrew

Apparently it was on the news last night that someone has been vandalising them, typical Salisbury!

Probably typical of virtually anywhere, Louise. Those who can't create, feel they have to destroy.
Best wishes,

Andrew
