That is great Tooks, nice depth of field there which really shows up the Owl.

Well done.
I'll bet the time of day, unique lighting and maximum aperture were not what you would have chosen - but look at the result!
Love the colours.

For 1/10 sec at 180mm that photo is impressively sharp! Was it a bean bag on the window sill, some form of clamp, or did you stop breathing and use the shake reduction?
Very nice photo indeed.
Best wishes, Kris.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Thanks for the positive comments guys!
It was handheld with me leaning out of the window, my left elbow was on the window sill if I remember. I got 3 shots before he flew off, and this was the sharpest.
I did have the SR switched on though!

I was driving home, but with my camera still on the passenger seat, when I noticed this fella sitting on a post. It was almost dark, but as he was just in front of a lay-by, my car headlights helped a little!
