Backgrounds and support stands

I'm trying to learn more about indoors photography, so have been looking at buying a background and stand. The kit on ebay sells for £40.99 incl carriage.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Would I be better off buying 'once' and spending a bit more??

That's certainly an excellent price, so in a way what is there to lose to try it out. It may be that the kit is not very durable and you will have to replace it for more intense use, but perhaps leave that until you are sure you will need it?

Its a good price but 2m wide isn't very wide at all! It may seem so until you bring your subject away from the background to knock it out of focus. I use this one link which is way more expensive but you need 12ft wide to get a group of four on it. You also need proper photographic sandbags on the stands to stop the whole thing becoming unstable (£15 each from Calumet and £4 for sand from B&Q)
