It was the 1940s Weekend at Pickering, North Yorkshire, this weekend. Just like the Goths at neighbouring Whitby in two weeks time, it was a photographer's paradise.

The camera in #3 looks like a Kershaw 8-20 Penguin, it must have slipped back in time as they appeared in the early '50s.

Nice set.

Nice work.
Question?
Have you tried post processing the images to re-create the look of photographic work/gear of the time?
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Yes Don, in No. 2. The crowds were so intense I got vignetting on the edges where people overlapped into the frame so I exagerated this and did a desat/sepia surround to the image.
Thanks for your comments. HG: The couple with the vintage camera are both Fellows of the Royal Photographic Society getting into the spirit of things.

Great shots!! Lovin' the first shot in particular!!!

btw - Personally I find trying age modern photographs, even when it's a retro weekend, is cheesy. Don't like the sepia at all. I think the perfect gent would have been better regular B&W

Although in the 2nd shot the Corporal Jones on the left holding the rifle almost looks like a Banksy on the wall because of the sepia effect.
