Babbacombe, The English Riviera

I thought i'd better hurry up and rush through a 'last set' of K7 images, before I have to pack it in and give up in the face of the torrent of new K1 images which will soon wipe the floor !

These were taken during the easter break, down in lovely Devon, and I took a peaceful afternoon walk around Babbicombe Bay, (part of the wider Torbay). Nice contrasty light and marine tones made it attractive for photography .....

All with the K7 and SMC F35-70mm (apart from the bird one, which was with the Tamron AF70-300mm) ....

Liking the first and the third

Unusual composition with the third, with the tree right at the top. Works really well for me .

Nice images as ever Nigel. Talk about location, location, location with those houses...

Only thing I did notice...in the third one, the differing sky tones, looks a bit artificial on the lower sky.

Thanks Tim and Karlo .... That high rock with its single tree is really unusual and irresistible! And yes, lucky few with houses down there. The sky was a bit overexposed in that lower area of No3, and I had to pull it down. I've had some issues before with cyans and the K7 sensor, although here I thought it looked suitably 'azure' ...ah well, another good excuse to keep a close eye on K1 prices ...... ?

Not a place I know, but these show how lovely it is, Nigel.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Really like the last one, but all are great. I have many fond memories of Babbacoombe and the surrounding south Devon area as all my family originally come from this area and I have spent many happy holidays on various beaches around here

Thanks guys, I'm not sure if the area is that well known or not. Most days I've visited it's been really quiet. It has limited road access and only a track or the Oddicombe Beach cable railway nearby for access, so I guess that keeps the hordes at bay.

But its really interesting to explore. I love Torquay and it's surrounds!
