But there is always the Appleby Horse Fair. It might seem odd but it is a bit of a unique event.

Foxglove Covert must be the only nature reserve in Britain you enter past armed guards

Do we need to leave it until Autumn? I'd be happy to do anytime from May-Oct.

I won't be able to get over again this year, but Appleby Horse fair sounds like a good option to me.

Of course you could all come over here .

Thank you Alan you’re so kind.
Maybe wait and see where majority would prefer, but not a problem to organise it.
Had a look last Saturday and once your enlisted, you’re in!!
Very nice Reserve, very quiet and peaceful other than the odd rife shot, but not much about while we were there, people or wildlife but good possibilities and the hides are very good particularly the tree top hides, never had chance to see the other one “Wetland Hide” as it was locked by mistake. Good place to walk around and explore.
Maybe pick a time of year for Ken when the Dragon flies are about as Barrie has mentioned.
Some Sundays they carry out bird ringing which may be of interest.
On the down side there is no cafe/restaurant so you would have to take your own.
Regards, Tom

As long as all shotguns are left at home! Otherwise we could be in trouble.

I think Tom should start another thread with dates and kick it off.
