Audley End Gatehouse - something missing

Took this photo last week. I quite like it, but there is something missing! I don't know if the building doesn't 'pop' enough, or isn't saturated enough, or what. There's something missing, any ideas on how I can improve it? (Or is it just a boring subject which cannot be improved?) Thanks!

I usually like things to be symetrical but this building is a nice find.

Don`t know about the technical jargon stuff but it`s a pity about the shadow and the furniture clutter to the right, still, atleast it shows it`s a home not just a house.

Lovely building. Could do with more contrast/saturation especially the greens in my opinion. The shadow does not help either.

How about trying it again but in early morning/late evening light. I think you will find it a different picture entirely. The midday sun is not your friend here.

Not a bad idea Peter, maybe better light will rescue it!

I drive around the local area a fair bit for work and was driving past Audley End House last week and since the sky was so lovely and clear I decided to stop for 5 minutes for a few pics.

Will try a morning/evening shot, although I'm not sure how access works at those times. I just strolled in through the gate on the B1383 this time, but normally I think there is someone trying to relieve you of money at that entrance! Not too keen on paying £10 for a 5 minute photo session

You've made a good job of perspective correction, I just think it needs to cropped much more aggressively: just below the topiary, just above the weather vane and get rid of nearly all the greenery on both sides.

Maybe it should be a bit warmer and saturated, so greens are more green and reds are more vivid too? I like the crop though.

Thanks for the suggestion Ken, here's an attempt at it.
