Definitely atmospheric. And rather threatening, too. Will the cloud or sun win in the end? I recognise the feel of the photo from the years that I spent living near the sea. Sea surface looks OK, but better be prepared...

Did I forget to say that I really like the photo?

Where to start? Agree with everything Lubbyman says. Seriously good work, Gareth.

You can feel the chill breeze as you look at it. Makes you happy to get indoors after your walk. It's a really good shot.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Doesn't look inviting (for a swim) - but you've certainly caught the atmosphere

Mood, light and moody light all in one capture. Very well done Gareth - this one should be in your portfolio,

There's a touch of Norman Ackroyd in this scene (one of my favourite artists for inspiration).

Getting older and grumpier. Taking longer to decide which lens to use today.

Thanks all, appreciate the feedback. Since finishing uni I haven't photographed an awful lot and with learning to play the guitar and gym, finding it hard to motivate myself to getting out. Had a meeting with my son's high school after work and there was a small window available to grab some food so I decided to bring the camera and see if anything took my fancy. As luck would have it, the car park for where I grabbed a sandwich was opposite the sea and after a while of sitting and watching I could see the mist starting to lift. It was hellish windy and I needed to watch my footing as the wind was trying it's hardest to blow me over.

I shot this image whilst there also as the weather conditions were so changeable but I feel the mono is the better image out of the two.

Nigel, I've never heard of Norman Ackroyd so enjoyed very much researching him and viewing his work thanks

There is a series broadcast on BBC4 from time to time: What Do Artists Do All Day?, a fascinating insight into the lives and thoughts of the featured artists. It is also available on YouTube. (The very beginning of the episode has no sound - it is not your computer / phone / tablet at fault!)

I love watching the process he goes though from the original drawing or painting, the creation of the copperplate negative, to the final positive print.

Click on the 'Watch on YouTube' link at the bottom left of the embedded video to see the full list of episodes.

Gareth, the 60-250 makes everything look amazing. Thats why its seldom off my K1. Really nice set of images and you can really get a feeling for the environment you were in.
