K3 does need the 0-GPS1 accessory afaik, but if it has any means to enter latitude, North and tilt manually it might still work. Look for a post on DP Review from Roland Karlsson - 'Astrotracer do not really need GPS'.

But a lot cheaper than the James Webb thingy that NASA sent a squillion miles to do astrophotography. Mind you, that thing has been converted for IR...
And unlike NASA, when you've finished using it you can sell it on and get some of your money back .

Depending upon how attached you are to your K3, maybe sell it and buy a K3II which has built-in GPS?

I do a lot of Astrophotography and I know it has an astrotracers, but do I need the GPS Reciever to use it?
