I don't know this particular lens but if it came off a Pentax film camera then it should work on a Pentax digital camera without a problem (the only lenses I'm aware of that can be hazardous are those designed for the Ricoh system which include an extra pin - with a little surgery even thay can be used though).

Did the other person give any indication why they think it would be unsuitable? If you post a picture of the lens bayonet for us to see I'm sure we can give a definitive answer anyway.

This is off KM did not give very good images but want to try on K7.

I was told it would stick on the camera and would need repairs, to the camera he never told me exactly what would happen.

The there is no extra pins onthe lens only a tab as you will see on the photo (not good quality hope you can see what you are looking for)

That tab is present on all older K-mount lenses and was used by cameras such as your KM to determine which aperture had been selected. Later bodies (including the digital ones) don't have the "feeler" to locate the tab but it won't foul anything either.

Judging by the photo I seen nothing to suggest that the lens won't work perfectly well on your K-7. You'll need to activate the custom menu option that allows use of an aperture ring, then the camera will need to be used in (M)anual mode with stop-down metering.

Maybe the person who told you it would jam wanted to sell you a new lens..?
