Article on "Why Do People Choose Pentax Digital SLRs?"

I noticed in the email newsletter this article has gone online. Out of idle curiosity I clicked through to see what would attract people from other brands to switch to Pentax. Unfortunately I discovered the article is behind the pay wall!!!!?!?!

Without meaning to be rude about it, but this is ridiculous. Where's the logic? You want people to read the article and then consider buying Pentax, right? No one is going to pay to join Pentax User Plus just to read an article which is trying to convince them to buy Pentax.

There is an abbreviated version Tim, which is considered mouthwatering enough to persuade people to part with their cash

I made the same point Tim, and they did put part of the article in the public part of the website. I still don't undertand why the article is of interest to PUF members though - preaching to the converted!

What makes me laugh about the whole thing is that the forum was asked the question, the answers of which were used to make the article, then they charge us to read it!

Thanks for clearing that up chaps. I looked at the thread which Blythman linked to, which lead me to this thread, on page 3 of which I found Blythman making the same point as me, and a bit further down found the link to the free abbreviated version of the article in question. Easy as pie

Hopefully for all those prospective Pentax buyers out there, Google will pick up the free version, and not the paid version

Well it is developing Steve and you didn't exactly have it for free because there was a charge for the membership of £16.50 per year. The difference is there was a physical, printed magazine. Now it's online articles and costs £9.95. You still get the 20% discount on servicing and other benefits.

Still, the choice is there.
Best regards, John
