I want to get one of these for cleaning my K20D sensor.

Can anyone tell me if I need an SL700 or an SL725?

I got the SL700 for mine. Works a treat...

Yes it works very well.
The surface of the sensor is specially thearthed so that it isn't static, the dust doesn't stick because of that. One or two sweeps and the dust is gone. I've one with a led in it, quite usefully.

My IstD needed cleaning frequently. I had Eclipse fluid, brushes, blowers, and a voodoo doll and none of them seemed to work that well except a wet clean which was a pain. The blower never, not once, did the job. I've had my K10D for about 18 months and haven't had any dust that a blower didn't handle.

I was worried about getting the Eclipse2 or whatever for the new sensor coating but I've never needed it. I don't need a spiffy new brush either. I'm sure it works. Everything seems to.

I got the Arctic butterfly 724 kit. Have used it twice on my K20 (:cry without any problems. Did the job.
The wet cleaner and pads I haven't had to try, yet.

Arctic Butterfly definitely works for me. Don't need it often, but when I do it clears the senor easily.
Listen to my albums free on BandCamp. Or visit my main website for links to photography, etc.

Thanks for the feedback all.

Can anyone tell me what the advatantages of the 724 over the 700 are?

Well, this is from the horses mouth (VisibleDust WEB page):
Quote:
The Arctic Butterfly® SL700 is an entry level DSLR sensor cleaning tool for the more budget orientated consumers. It uses one AAA battery (not included), has a lower spinning speed compared to the Arctic Butterfly® 724 and does not offer the convenience of a detachable brush. The Arctic Butterfly® SL700 is compact so that it can easily fit into a photographer's pocket and comes with a bristle cap and sturdy carrying case.
So my guess is
- it has a lower spinning speed
- it does not have a detachable brush

Since I only have the 724 I don't know for sure but these strike me as not being huge disadvantages.

Oh, one important drawback: It is an entry level cleaning tool. Certainly you are an advanced cleaner.

I went for the 700 as I did not see the point of spending a lot more to gain virtually nothing.

I have the 700 also. Does the job nicely.

One thing I will say is that I would have rather it be priced a little lower than come with all the cases etc.
Why do I need a large padded plastic case for something so small ? And why do I need a leather case & carabina also ? Unless I wan't to look fashionable whilst rock climbing ???

The guy in the shop apologised to me that they only have turquoise left. Why should I care what colour it is ?

It's an effective product is all you need to know, the brand image dept. have gone way overboard.

I use the 'leather' case for my pens, etc. Makes a great little pencil case. The box is stupid though, I don't even know what I did with that.

I have a 700 model and it hasn't always worked well enough. The more expensive ones should be more effective if they more highly charge the brush.
