ARCADA SWISS type Plate for Redsnapper & Gimbal Mount?

Evening

Can anyone recommend some good plates for use with my recently acquired 150-500mm Sigma (DG HSM OS version) so that I would have max flexibility in how to mount the combo on the Redsnapper tripod, or more probably the Gimbal mount fitted to that tripod?

NB - might also be used with the 100-300 F4.

I have the Benro one for my K-5 & 150-500 and it works very well.....

I think the Red Snapper QR plates Arca Swiss compatible?

Thanks - possibly, but it seems to me that I might need quite a long one (140mm+ ?) to get the balance right (the 150-500 is a big so and so!). I also think it's probably needs to be one with rubber pads on the top to help stop the lens slipping around.

So, could it be this one that you have, because that looks a little short?

In that respect, what do you think about this other one or something like it?

It will used mainly at airshows, and for birding if I ever get around to that!

I'm not sure that the 150-500 is best suited to a gimbal head because the balance point changes as you zoom in or out (unless you intend to keep it set to one focal length or set the friction very firm, which negates the whole point and expense of a gimbal). I prefer a traditional 3 way pan/tilt head with the 150-500, though I'm not sure that would be responsive enough for an airshow. A good ballhead would do it but care is needed to stop the thing flopping about and getting damaged when you loosen the grip. This will not happen with a pan/tilt head. Are tripods allowed at airshows anyway?
