Apology.

I owe an apology to the four members who left comments on my picture "Museum of Islamic Art" in my gallery. I had a number of comments both there and in the forum about the image being too soft. I spent some time tweaking it, and then replaced it in the gallery. Of course, this then deleted the comments that had been made. In retrospect it was a rather stupid and churlish thing to do, and I feel that I owe those people who commented on the picture (which was also the first picture of mine in the gallery to receive any comments) an apology. You live and learn as they say, and if I have learnt the hard way (I would not expect those people to bother commenting on my pics again), then it's probably no more than I deserve. I can only assure everyone that I will not repeat this boorish behaviour again.

We all learn from our mistakes, so don't beat yourself up about it. The more stupid the mistake the better we learn.

From your description of events, I cannot see you have done anything wrong.

It's your gallery, and you can re-post pictures whenever you want. People cannot expect their comments to be displayed for time immemorial.

I would usually thank to those who commented previously and then explain the changes made to the image.

From a practical point of view, the only thing really is that it would be nice to see the before and after versions to see what has changed. In this way something could be learned by everyone about the comments made and whether or not implementing them made an improvement.

The only place where replacing photos is not done is in the competitions, where to do so would be unfair.

I was one the people who commented on your photo and have no problem with what you did

Would be nice to see before and after images for comparison though.

I think I commented on your pic. I've got no problem with you re-posting the photo. You did a good job originally, it was just a little soft, FOR ME. I move on and look at the new photos posted. Hopefully in the meantime, I've posted some shots that others can comment on.(Nothing worse than someone throwing negative comments around on everyone else's work and not posting anything themselves). No need to apologise, just get out there and take some more great photos. Viva la Pentax!!

Although, there are some who are so new to photography that we don't feel we have the necessary skills / vocabulary to comment on other people's work. I know that's how I felt when I first came on here.
But getting feedback on our images allows us to improve an then gives us the knowledge to comment. ( Although I haven't contributed much lately myself, either in the way of comments, or for comment )
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

Sounds to me as if it should be filed under (at worst) "Oops".
