Aperture

I work on a PC., with CS2 and Bridge at the mo, seen the trial for APerture but noticed it is from Apple, what is the concensus of opinion as a good organiser and RAW converter say as opposed to Lightroom which I am also considering?

My personal favorite is ACDSee or ACDSee Pro.
The database can handle a LOT of images and does so quickly.
The organization and finding of files for the most part is easy to do.

The Beta version of ACDSee Pro 2.0 RAW converter handles newer RAW formats including the K10D. (yeah, 2.0 is coming out after v 8.1... go figure...)
Although I really have not looked at the RAW converter much. On the surface it seems to be lacking compared to dedicated packages.

I've not tried Aperture, but Lightroom is the main software I use for all aspects of the photography I'm doing.

it imports k10 dng files with no problems (on my mac anyway).

i use aperture, and I'm pretty sure it's mac only.
I love it.
I'd say lightroom has the advantage of being cross platform, and therefore more users which translates into more (free) resources/tutorials.
aperture is very tightly integrated with the other mac software, making it ideal for my workflow, which is heavy on the multimedia apps.
I use it with Iwork, Ilife, Automator, Garageband, Applescript, and photoshop cs2.
it has a couple features that lightroom lacks, and is very good at streamling and automating large amounts of images and projects.

Aperture is for Mac only, but Lightroom is an excellent option. I use it for all my digital photos and it is easy to process a whole shoot quickly. I've not used the web publishing module yet but I'm sure it will be handy. Just download the 30-day trial and have a go.

Thanks for that Tyr, that is a very imformative review very helpful, looks like its going to be Lightroom as I have a PC. Thank you all for the relpies.
