Just processing the JPG images you've put up it looks like the Red and Blue channels are swapped
(Used a Channel Mixer in PS)
You haven't said what the original image actually was - DNG, PEF, JPG.
I'm not even 100% sure which camera you have! Though looking at your gallery it looks like a K5II.
I've seen the purple straggly line and seriously bad colour appear in Picasa when it wasn't up to date - and its RAW conversion was off. I had this issue with Picasa and the K5IIs until Google got its act (nearly) together!

I'm using PE 10, and it happily opens my K5II RAW files using Camera Raw Plugin 6.6. Are you suggesting it shouldn't?Just had a trawl through the Adobe site.

Odd really as it's their product, but, as said, PE10 with Camera Raw 6.6 is very happy with the RAW output from my K5II.

Maybe you're version of Picasa is an old one. Upgrading Picasa to a newer version will likely solve the problem. I've had the same issue when I bought my K20D and then with my K-7. The version of Picasa I had wasn't compatible with the new cameras.

I just ran both images through an action I use for infrared, which swaps the red and blue channels, and they came out looking completely normal, so the red and blue channels are definitely swapped in both of these files. Update; Thanks everyone for all your helpful comments. Sent camera back 11/06/13,sensor problem, band new camera on the way! It should arrive today 11/07/13
