Unless you have an LX, you should make very sure to keep any Pentax camera out of the rain. Water can get inside in all sorts of ways. The hotshoe is the least of your problems.

I know exactly what you mean but other than buying a scrap Z1/Z1-P, I don't know where you'd be able to get one from.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
I don't know where you are, but Pentax UK is still supplying parts for the Z1-P, and perhaps therefore for the Z1, too.
I have found them very helpful and efficient, and the prices are not totally outrageous.

I need the bit of plastic that covers the built in flash on my Z1
its fallen off when moving house and disappeared
the camera works perfectly but reallly need this bit of plastic as it has exposed the electrics
Can anyone help pleasE??
