Matt,
I've switched to Lightroom and I like it . . . a lot. I didn't want to shell out even more money on SilkyPix and I'm just waiting for the C1LE 3.7.7 . For the moment, I'm more than happy with Lightroom. It has rescued a few shots of mine already that had overexposed skies etc.
You should maybe give it an airing.
Cheers,

Peter,
I have Lightroom v1. Doesn't stand up to C1 or Silkypix
It's high ISO handling isn't great - produced highly "speckled" results from the K10D. C1 is better (on the *ist-D), and Silkypix is consistently the cleanest and most controlled output
I've nothing against Lightroom, I quite like the GUI touches. But no one else sees that, so it comes down to IQ, and Silkypix is a clear winner (by a looooong way in my shots).

Ben,
Your images give me a boost of inspiration to improve my own efforts. I've got a long way to go I fear.
Which is your preferred post-processing editor?

Have your customers/clients/employers had any comments, positive, neutral, or negative regarding your switch to Pentax?
Most of my clients wouldn't know a Pentax from a Toyota...No problem what so ever. They figure if I am using it, it must be what I use.Predictable

I don't have any memory of a client ever saying..Ah Ben, don't you think it would be better to use this over this. As long as the photos I provide work for the support that it will be published in, that is exactly what they want...

Ah, but they do ask violinists if they are using a Strad. or a Guarneri. Of course, some don't have to ask!benjikan wrote:

You and I know that Canon produce some of the finest camera's in the world..I can't S--T on Canon, I used there stuff for twenty years and it was a good relationship to say the least. It would be like bad mouthing my ex-wife in front of my children..If I married her, she must have been great for me for a while at least...

Don't take this too seriously. Pentax users tend to dislike Canons for their size and weight, and resent Canon users for their assumption that other brands are inferior. We know otherwise!
No sensible person disputes that Canon equipment can produce very good results, and of course the range is broader than anybody else's.

PS: Actually, Canons are themselves pretty useful as sledge-hammers.
