Another reason for using a lens hood

It was when I heard that sickening crack of something breaking that I lost the will to try and remain standing

Having extricated myself from the hedge, and retrieved the camera from out of the snow I discovered that it must have met the tarmac with the lens hood first about 45 degrees. One broken leaf on the hood and one very snowy camera.

Can anybody suggest a Tamron spares dealer - preferably internet but not ebay- where I can get a new hood.

I have surfed around for a couple of hours and can only find J****** and Karlu who list Tamron hoods but neither of them have a picture and both of them seem to have a waiting time of about 3 weeks.

Based on past experience, I would rather not trust J****** so I am a bit stuck until I can give Karlu a ring next week.

sorry I can't help with spares dealers, just wanted to say hope you came out of the hedge in better shape than your lens hood!

Did that with my Pentax SMC-DA 12-24
Cracked hood, which I superglued and carefully filed off the scratches. Phew!

Hoods are excessively expensive though

Thanks for your concern.

A few scratches around the face - it was a hawthorn hedge!

A face will mend, a hood will not
