Another newbie
I look forward to seeing some pictures from Norway
Steve
Welcome!
I would make the usual comment about your English being better than my Norwegian but in your case, your English is much better than my English!
I not only look forward to looking at pictures of your splendid country, but to reading about your submissions as well.
Bravo!

Thank you for your kind words, Sir. I guess I can thank my former job for my knowledge of the English language. I was a Technical Writer for 12 years.
Howver, that is a long time ago, so perhaps I can gain some useful practice by participating in this forum.

Why can't our camera manufacturers employ technical writers of your caliber?
Of course, that's unfair - I'm sure Norwegian and English are more closely related that Japanese or Chinese. And I must admit things have improved since I started photography in the early 60's.
Man, I'm OLD
And cranky

Horten,
Norway
After joining this forum recently, I suppose it is considered polite to introduce oneself. My first name is (obvously) Terje, which I convert to Terry when speaking English.
I live in Horten, a small town about 60 miles south of Oslo. Even though I have passed 60, I still work full time as an electronic engineer with focus on computers and software.
Many, many years ago I did some industrial photography (illustrations for user manuals, etc.) using a Mamiya RB67 and a Ricoh XR-2. The Ricoh camera introduced me to Pentax lenses (K bayonet), so when I decided to get into DSLR late 2007 the Pentax K100D became the obvious choice. And I was happy to find that my old Pentax bellows with a 100mm prime still works with my new camera.
For many years now I have just been shooting family and holiday pics with my Canon PowerShot 45. But I have missed the functionality of the SLR. Hopefully I will be able to become a little more creative in the future. I have checked that Photobucket works well for uploading pictures, so I intend to share some of my pictures with you all and possibly get some comments to help me improve my work.
Extending my best wishes for the new year to you all.
Terry
