Chester is a lovely city and there are some great places in Anglesey too. Also, Snowdonia is just across from Anglesey.

You should have a great time!
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

Simonkit is the one to talk to - it is his home ground - have a look at his photos for an idea of what is around.

Lucky you - I love North Wales (Land of my Mothers) and would like to get back there sometime soonish.

There are several photogenic places on Anglesey, one of my favourites is South Stack outside Holyhead. There's also Llanddwyn, Beaumaris for the castle, Penmon, Menai Bridge for the bridges. I love Anglesey, but then I am biased as I was born and bred in Holyhead, as a welsh speaker.

Try these sites for ideas

If you go to South Stack keep the children away from the cliff edges.

Also as Gwyn says look at Simonkit images on here and his website.

Enjoy yourself.

avoid the A55 if you can unless you want to stop in Conwy..

the A5 is a lovely road, plenty of views of the mountains on the way.

And my favourite lake is right next to it - Llyn Ogwen.

especially tomorrow, Friday, as there is a fuel protest by lorry drivers on the M56 from Stanlow on the M56 all the way to Conwy.

However, normally on a Saturday morning the A55 is quite free flowing and quite fast. Mind the 50mph limit at Colwyn Bay.

Newborough Warren in addition to all the other mentions. Great views across the Menai Straits.

Personally I'd stear away from the usual places but all thelocations mentioned above are worth a visit if you've not been before. Anglesey is pretty nice all over. Very historiacl and many ancient landmarks like cromlechs. The wind turbines in the North or the island are pretty impressive. Beaches are great - I like Red Wharf Bay in the East. Have a look on the Anglesey Curcuit site - great racing curcuit in superb scenery - cheap too and easy to get close to the action.
