What a strange PR stunt - especially married to that call sign.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

That's pretty much a standard approach, fly over the airfield and then do a break in to the circuit for landing. Altho with it being a commercial airfield the pilot would've got permission.

Cool piccy Gareth, was there anything like a celebration or air display on? That's the RAF's display Tiffy.

It was the Welsh International Airshow at Swansea, as well as another over the sea in England somewhere. They use Cardiff as a temporary base and fly out from here as its close by for both airshows. We had this year the reds staying as well as the Typhoons. They come in pairs, Anarchy 1 has the union jack paint job and the other Typhoon, Riot 1, was plain grey.

Last year we had the Swedish Mig, the BBMF and a few jet provists also.

Didn't get to shoot much this year from the airport as Saturday was open day at university as I'm looking at possibly doing my MA so that took up all of the depart and arrival times.

Gutted as they left yesterday and for a send off did vertical takeoffs! The noise was mental, loved it, although some on the local FB community page were complaining

A friend of mine has some amazing full afterburner shots as they went vertical against grey skies so the heat really shows up well!
