The war memorial to the 1916-1919 war in Babadag, Romania. Shot using an LX, Delta 100 professional, and a errr... ummmm.... 28mm lens, maybe?

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Cheers, HG

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

Kris,

For mine, the fountain puts a little too much distance between the memorial and the viewer?

Strange dates. Makes one think of how we view European history from a very British (often English) perspective.

"Fortunes of War" was set partially in Romania. Interesting to actually go there.

I have some closer shots on digital I think but I wanted to put this monument in context. The form of the monument is quite a common one over there but then I guess not many people here would know that!

Kris, you're quite right in picking up that I didn't know. Also, I should have thought a little more about the impact the lens had on the day, on perspective and the lack of compression.
