Just wondering if I can call on the expertise that exists on this forum.
I continue to enjoy my recently purchased 645Z. Still learning and taking failure to an art form but that’s the way of things isn’t it? I decided to use only prime lenses and have the 35, 55, 75 and 150. I would like to buy a 25mm to round off my collection.
I’m aware of the problems that have been written about this lens in the past and that it is no longer manufactured. The Pentax 25mm also seems to be as rare as hen’s teeth and the ones I’ve found on various selling sites have been pretty expensive. I was also uncertain about the quality.
This started me thinking about a 25mm lens or thereby manufactured by another company other than Pentax. Having done the research on the various lenses and what’s involved, I don’t think I’m going to be successful. There’s the technical issues, (autofocus for example) as well as the engineering, (making sure the thingummyjigs and other wotsits don’t bump, or bang, against each other and destroy themselves and the camera in the process - as you can tell, I am highly technical.)
The question is simple, do any of you have any thoughts how one can obtain a Pentax 25mm prime equivalent that will fit the 645Z without requiring a specialist workshop or a PhD in wotsits and thingummyjigs?
Thanks all, and be safe.
