The bridges are lovely at night, especially the Magerebrug (skinny bridge) and the junctions of the Keizersgracht and Reguliersgracht and the Keizersgracht and Leidsgracht. Museumplein/IAmsterdam sign with the pond to reflect lights. Pretty much any canal with the old houses. Centraal station. Nemo. Behind Centraal you can get shots over to the trendy bits of Amsterdam (take the free ferry and go visit them).
Have fun, but take care. Don't try and take photos in the red light districht (in case you are thinking of going there).

Thank you Gwyn, much appreciated. I don't know how much time i will get to take photos as this trip is really just for her, but if I can get some while there, it will be a bonus.
