Nice sharp shots. I especially like the rail road crossing image, very evocative of the landscape in that bit of the world. I also really like posts and wooden sidings image.

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

A great set, they really capture something timeless about the country. I particularly like the railway crossing, and the shadows on the sprinkler water. There's something about the diner one too

It's a fascinating place, especially when you get off the beaten track.

I agree. My favourite holiday destination, well after Africa.

Route 66 was great, as Unlocker will no doubt agree, and we loved exploring hidden bits of California, weird little towns in the South west, and the stunning beauty of the Northwest. Boston and Massachusetts was good too, especially once we got out of Boston. Not a city person although I've also been to DC, but all I remember of that trip is the heat .

There is just so much to see, and I just want to keep going back again. Your photos remind me of all I love about it.

I didn't really like SF as much as I expected to. I love European cities but I couldn't get a handle on San Fran. But I loved driving through those endless empty miles of highway, stopping off at those strange isolated little villages and towns, and the scenery is spectacular.

Would love to visit Africa too.

If by "proper" you mean "wrong"...
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

I like the first image. I keep comparing the crossing track/road with the crossing signs.

I agree with Peter - that first image gets me in too.

Hey pentax', i'd like to see more of that kind of imagery you speak of, like empty desolate highway's with old and decrepit signs of what once was in the west, with a lot more besides.
If you have 'em show 'em, i'd be interested in seeing 'em.

I'd love to make the trip out on the Route 66 for example, with my camera before I die.

Thanks Pauly. I guess for the more classic images, you do need to head south to the desert. Although on a less rushed itinerary I suppose I could have captured more of the little redneck spots we drove through... most places were pretty humdrum, but what left an impression on me was the sense of isolation and how friendly people seemed. Perhaps on my own I could have come away with a few more people shots.
