Amazed with FA 50mm F1.4

I had the chance to handle a FA 50mm 1.4 today. After using the SMC-A 50mm F1.7 and other old MF lenses and the newer AF lenses, I was convinced that no new AF could come close to the feeling of the old MFs. After trying the FA I still think the same, but I'm amazed about how nice the focus ring felt. I had seen pics and it seemed so small that I thought it useless.
I've tried a canon 50mm F1.4 (or 1.8 ) on a 5D, what a diference... I think even the pentax kit is nicer...

Any other AF that still keeps some great feel to its manual focusing?

I have manual screw mount 50mm 1.4, 135mm 2.5, 50mm 4.0 macro etc. I recently bought a 31mm FA Limited, and its manual focus ring feels like these good old gems.

Therefore, I ASSUME all Limiteds would have the "feel".

Enjoy your lens - if it is like my Super Takumar 1.4, you're in for some amazing photographs.

Sadly I dont own the FA, just the A 1.7 (which is very good).
But now, I'll have quibles with buying this "tiny piece of plastic with a non existing focus ring" (in all honesty, the only thing stoping me from buying it the fact that it feels nicer on the wallet to buying x amount of MF lenses from time to time instead of paying £150 for a focal length I already have

FA 28mm f2.8 (and I suppose all the other FAs).

The focusing rings do have a nice light action (but with some damping) and enable fast focusing, but you can focus more precisely more easily with older manual-focus lenses as they have longer focus paths. Turning the ring 1 degree on an FA makes more difference than turning the ring 1 degree on an A, making it trickier.

So if you don't want auto-focusing, I'd say you're better off with the lens you have already.

The rings on F lenses are similar to FAs, except are thinner and knurled.
