Well observed shots, Though i find the light coloured items in the background of the Boot image a bit distracting So too is the sloping horizon in the second shot, Perhaps also the coastline is a little close to the top edge of the basket making it a bit of a jumble in this area. I love the lighting in this shot though!
Good effort, Definitely worth persuing as subject matter, I have been contemplating going to my local beach as i tend to neglect it.

That`s a big improvement! It`s just the coastine that matches the outline of the basket so closely. A slightly higher viewpoint might have helped here, Just a few inches that`s all, I don`t think a lower viewpoint would help much in this instance but it is always worth exploring as you never know till you try it.
Even as it is you have a great shot!
Keep it up.

Its good to do this Techno', but the composition has to be right. With the boot, I would have tried a shot lookin' directly down on it, and usin' the rule of thirds to take in part of the environment. Jus' my two penneth.

me too; obviously I have no idea of the general environment but the lobster pot night have been better shooting contre-jour?Its good to do this Techno', but the composition has to be right. Like the second lobster pot shot although agree that a slight change of angle may have improved the shot. The boot does not work for me for some reason I think it is all the clutter round it, if you perhaps had more of the tide line clutter in the shot or if you want the boot only then perhaps you should clear away some of the clutter or move the boot to a clearer area of the tide line.

Thanks for all the great comments they are all very constructive and helpful. By the look of your comments the boot will have to be revisited I may even risk a black and white shot, taken from above and de cluttered assuming the current high tides have not taken it away.
As for the Lobster Pot I concentrated too much on the foreground and neglected the background and need to change the angles. I especial liked the idea of contre-jour that would never have crossed my mind.
Thanks again for all the comments
