Alien upclose.

Playing around, through the window at some seeds. K1 mkII and DFA 100 SMC f2.8 WR, 1/25th sec at f5 ISO 100, tripod, PP in RT.
I was hoping for a bird to feed on them, appro. 2ft (60cm) from lens to seeds.

I prefer the second picture for the 'alien' look.

Yes, the second one is the better 'alien' for me, too. Have you tried getting to minimum focus distance (not pushing the lens through the window of course :wink? It looks like the sort of thing where filling most of the frame with the seeds at the end of the spike could produce an interesting shot.
