Perhaps not the most famous/scenic of the Yorkshire Dales, but has plenty to please the eye. Hope these give a bit of a feel for it. K5ii + Pentax 18-135mm

Nice to see that someone else appreciates my home area John. Nice set. Numbers 7 and 3 stand out as good compositions.

Let me know next time you are in the area.

A good varied overview of an apparently beautiful and interesting area. Best compositions for me are 6 and 8. I like the soft approach to the contrast generally, Colours are a little on the cool / green side ... No doubt accurate, but perhaps a little more warmth would be appealing .... ?

Thanks for showcasing a place completely new to me.

An interesting set of photos, and I also like 6 & 8. For me, 6 is a fine illustration of the daunting climb ahead, and 8 shows good depth in the view of both incline and distance.

Cheers.

Nice set John. Seems to have been much more going on at 5 locks than during my last couple of visits.

Airedale has some real hidden treasures to offer photographers - but let's keep that to ourselves - we don't want everybody finding out

Thanks for your comments, all, happy to show off our area when I can!

Nigel, I take your point, but am happy that the colours are pretty realistic - the same shots taken today would be considerably greener, I'd say!

Don, not sure I'd recognise an airedale terrier if I saw one!

Dave and Carl, you probably know the area much better than I do as an occasional visitor. Maybe worth an outing sometime, maybe in the autumn?

Here's a close-up of the church I just found - a fine solid bell tower!
