Air Tattoo 2014

Hi All

My son and I are thinking of attending the Royal International Air Tattoo this year as we have never been before so seeking advice on Accomadation (b+b, camping, whatever) and view points on and off site.

From a quick search on the web I see that there are several campsites which offer view points for the display. Any recommendations appreciated.

I went a few years ago. It had rained heavily the days before and the car parks were flooded/muddy and cars were having difficulty getting on causing huge queues. If going on-site for the show I'd recommend getting there very early.

I can't help with accommodation other than any hotels or travel lodge type places within striking distance appear to be block booked as soon as the show dates are confirmed.

Photography wise, you get the guys with the big lenses on top of step-ladders getting in the way if you're not careful.

Considering camping there but unsure which site is best and within easy walking distance to gain access to the event itself.
Any suggestions on is it worth paying for grandstand seating for photography?

The mach 123 are a little out of budget unfortunately.
