Afternoon Dipper

One of my regular morning walks takes me along the banks of the Derwent into Belper. The river has a number of great spots for watching the local bird population. A particular favourite for me is the Dipper, unfortunately the deep shadows in the morning test even the K3iii's high iso capabilities. So I took a chance yesterday afternoon with the sun providing a little more illumination into the wooded river bank - I needn't have worried, this Dipper took to the middle of the river giving me a chance of a few well illuminated images. The sun off the water was still a challenge but the K3iii coped really well

All shots K3iii and Pentax-DA* 300mm, 1/1000, F/8

Great captures, made me smile. The third one especially. Delightful.
Be well, stay safe, but most of all, invest in memories

A few minutes watching and capturing images of these intriguing creatures is time well spent IMO - nicely done

Lovely images considering the environment they inhabit and their behaviour.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thank you very much for the comments. They are elusive little birds which given the chance I will stand and watch for ages.
The next challenge on this stretch of river will be the Kingfishers which I often catch a glimpse of as they flash by!
