After Wind And Rain

Last Monday was the annual visit to Minterne Gardens to see the rhododendrons and azaleas in their full glory. But after a weekend of wind and rain, a lot of the glory was on the ground. So rather than pictures of the surviving flowers, here are some of those that fell foul of the weather. And to finish off, there's a near abstract of a bush draped in moss.

The camera and lens were K20D + DA16-45mm - a couple of hours of pure nostalgia with my first DSLR and the lens that came with it. It has its technical limitations compared with the K3 + 16-85mm that would have otherwise come with me, but the feel of the camera and the lens that expands as the focal length shrinks brought back a lot of memories.

Thoughts, comments etc. welcome as usual.

Your first one is very similar to the camelia heads scattered on the ground in our garden after similar weather - followed by a hailstorm so violent it left the ground scattered with pebbledash from the house walls. Your photos tell a story, Steve, which many of us will understand!

Thanks. There were also a few camelias looking sorry for themselves.

Interesting take Steve. 2 works best for me, it's a very rythmic image.
