AF360 flash

Is there a way to stop my AF360 flash from powering down after a few minutes (when using it with a remote trigger)? It's driving me crazy. My SB24 doesn't do it, but I don't always have that with me.

And is there a way to wake it up without turning the power switch off and on again?

Thanks!
Tim

It turns off after 3 minutes and after 6 in A-mode and 1 hour when set to wireless.
I don't know if you can fool the flash if you set it on wireless instead of on?

I've looked into the manual and that's all i could find.
You could power it up when pressing the release button on your camera but that isn't help full either.

Aha, wireless mode! Good idea, thanks Stefan. I just checked and I still have an M setting in wireless mode, so that should work out well.

Look up Auto Power Off Function in the manual.
I believe the 360 manual also states this, but the 540 manual is much more clearly written.

1. Slide the setting switch Up

2. Press the LIGHT button for 2 seconds.
SL 1 or SL2 will be displayed.

3. Press the MODE button

4. Press the Selecte button (S) the number of times required to select PH 1 or PH2
PH1: Enables auto power off function.
PH2: Disables auto power off function.

Note, the flash will never auto power down in this mode.

I also believe if you have the wired remote, the flash will auto power on, as if you hit the shutter button/
Sadly, the IR remote will not wake the camera and therefore not affect the flash.

Amoringello thanks for that, it looks like something I would be interested in trying. However I can't get it to work, after SL2 is displayed, pressing MODE (or any other button) does nothing I just looked through the manual and couldn't find anything about it in there either. Is it possible it's only on the 540?

Rats!! I was certain that I had either been told about or read about the settings before I got my 540.
Anyway, I just tried and like you say the poor 360 does nothing.
Sorry about that.

No worries, 1 hour in wireless mode is plenty. Turning it off altogether would have just been an extra bonus. Knowing me I'd probably be constantly running down sets of batteries in my bag anyway.

Yeah I looked first through the manual because you could adapt it with the AF540FGZ but there is no such function for the AF360FGZ

Tim how does the flash behave when you set the switch on "wireless" and on your camera, does it than switch off after 5 minutes or an hour?
I wander how smart the flash is
