Advice requested re K5 in studio

I'd use manual mode, set the shutter speed at 1/180s and the aperture around f/8 for starters, assuming the use of studio flash. A few test exposures will soon tell you what aperture is right for the flash power. It might be f/11, even f/16.
Flash is best triggered using an infra-red or radio trigger, which avoids having cables running from the camera.
After that, experiment with lighting and have fun!

Thanks for that. I had thought of going manual but the thought of having paid what is, for me, a small fortune, for a camera that seems to have every conceivable things to set up, to set it to manual breaks my heart.

So, can anyone advise re the best settings for a studio environment, using flash, mainly. I don't plan on doing anything fancy, just getting back into practice again. All advice gratefully received.
