It's happened to me before, but that was because I did not have the two coupling keys engaged in their slots correctly. Can you hear the click when it locks into place.

It locks in tight and then a moment later it will just twist off..

With the mount removed can you see the release lever moving freely in the lens.
On the lens side of the mount there is a small notch near to the button for the "A" setting does that look clean and undamaged. (Tell me if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs)

When you push the release button in you should be able to see this little claw retract.

The claw isnt going all the way out like that despite pulling the lever which feels really tight to move...

That is a picture of a 17mm. looking at a 28mm the claw does not protrude at all, so it may vary from lens to lens.
Both those lenses only have three screws holding down the rear plate and the release lever pivot. I'd be tempted to have a look and see what is happening, it may only need cleaning.

Ok the claw isnt protruding out like that one in the inage and is really stiff. I have removed the back plate and found the spring had come removed. Hve refitted it all together and the claw is still not protruding and the adaptor is a little tighter but still not locking so i think i am going to have to get a scrap lens to fix it.

I think the adaptor is broken, now I have fixed the claw the aperture setting isnt being transmitted to the body unless I release the camera lens button slightly and knock back the lens, I have bought a fungal infected adaptall lens of ebay to try it out, see what happens...

The spring which operates the lens release lever will have dropped out it happened to one of my lenses i had to take the mount off the lens by undoing the three screws which hold it on replace the spring back under the lever. Easy but fiddly.

Thanks have fixed that already, but now the adaptor wont relay the aperture information to the body without releasing the body lens lock release slightly and it still is not locking. It looks like the plastic on the adaptor where the locking claw clocks in has worn.

This causing a problem on the monopod when I twist from vertical to portrait mode in that the body detaches from the lens!!!
Have had a google and cannot find a solution, anyone had this problem before???
