Adaptall 2 lenses

The f3.5 version is extremely highly regarded. It has been called, rightly or wrongly, the finest zoom ever made
The 60-300 has a very good reputation as well, although there are some duffers out there (I've had one).
I would expect to pay about £80 for one of the 60-300s. The 70-210 will be possibly as much as double that (not too sure about that one - they dont come up for sale often).
They can both be used handheld. I wouldn't expect brilliant results with the 1.7 TC but they may be acceptable to some people. Generally speaking a TC should be used with a prime lens, although there are some exceptions.
In my experience almost all Adaptall-2 'SP' lenses are top notch.

Pics taken with my Adaptall 2 70-210mm HERE
Excellent lens but not as expensive as Tim thinks .. you will pay aroud £80 for a good one. Nice thing about the lens (apart from the quality) is its very close focus ability.

Thanks guys, I could find the 60-300 for about 80quid, but not really seen any 70-210s around, plenty of 3.8-4 but not the 3.5 one....
The only one I found is in Hong Kong which I'm hoping my friend might be able to bring back for me...
I'm just wondering as good the 70-210 is, how does it compare to the 60-300? I've heard that at 60mm there's a macro function?!
Oh and Mike-P, those pics make me want the lens lol

Hi Adrian, I've got a 70-210mm 19AH that I bought new at BIN price off a dealer on ebay about 2 years ago. It was still in the original wrapping inside the box, he didn't even remove the wrapping for the photos. He used to get a lot of NEW Tamron stuff and I got the impression that he had a proper camera shop besides ebay, because most of his stuff was slow moving stock at BIN prices. I've just looked on ebay but he's not sold anything for over 3 months so he's probably sold all he wanted to sell.
I've used this lens ONCE and it's complete with case, caps and original box If your interested you can have it for about what I paid for it which was £125 and I'll pay the RMND. You would have to get an adapter separate because I have other Adaptall lenses (that I don't use)
It does seem very sharp, but I normally use a 55-300mm or DA*300mm and 210mm isn't long enough for me.
Payment by Bank Transfer would be preferred.

I've got the 60-300mm and it's ok but I would say my DAL 55-300mm is better and obviously has autofocus.

Adaptall 2 SP 70-210 f3.5 19AH
Adaptall 2 SP 60-300 f3.8-5.4
These are the two that i could possibly get, and would also be nice to know if they could be used handheld, and will they work with the 1.7x AF TC?
Many thanks
