This was an interesting project to do, a Year Book for the Atherton & District Amateur Photographic Society (ADAPS). 44 pages of members' images for posterity, copies produced to special order only so probably one of the rarest books around...so far there are just two copies!

It was produced via iBooks on a Mac and although not cheap it is beautiful quality. The club members will see this tomorrow night, so it will be very interesting to see what they think.
Best regards, John

Including shipping, the A4 hardcover with dustjacket will be £45, the A4 softcover will be £35 and the approx 8" x 6" softcover will be £25.

To get lower prices we will need to have an order for 25+ copies.

Not cheap, but the printing quality is as good as any coffee-table book.

It took about 3 hours to prepare on a Mac and was then uploaded and duly delivered from the USA. It took around 7 days to arrive.

At about a pound an A4 page including binding and postage I would have said that was pretty good. Does it have to be done on a mac or can it be done on a proper computer? Are the pages printed on just one side or both? Any chance of a photo of how it looks inside? Sorry for so many questions but just yesterday I had an idea for a book and perhaps this might be the route to go.

I've had the smaller book made by Photobox and they are stunningly effective. Wedding photos in a book make a great gift

Both sides are printed, just like any book. Don't know about the Mac/PC question. We did it on my son Mike's Mac, but the images were prepared on my PC. I'll ask.

I will show some interior pages but after the club members have had a first look tonight.

Looks great, John! I did one earlier this year on our Mac's iPhoto - a photographic tribute to a friend - and found the very customizable process easy to use, and the final result very 'professional' for this amateur.

Cheers!

Id made a book myself for a photography project for school
Cept its not been printed yet
I might just get in printed in book via photobox; id designed all the pages and saved as jpg, I can just modify them to fit the layout fine.

Preparation can be done on either a PC or an Apple Mac.

Printed both sides in the example I've seen - beautifully bound - a real coffee table production.
