Just got news of my first ever prize. Won a Manfrotto tripod from What Digital Camera in this months edition apparently - perfect timing as a leg on my Redsnapper tripod keeps falling off. They emailed me via Flickr a couple of months back asking if I'd do a readers camera bit. I didn't expect owt to come off it as I'm fairy sure they send a few emails out. Either way I'm happy as its a few quid saved towards my next purchase - I know its not a top of the range tripod but it'll do me fine.

Quite pleased to be honest and posted here as all I got at home was 'thats nice dear'

Congratulations, know how that feels so know how chuffed you feel and rightly so.

Only once did I ever write a letter into a magazine and it was asking the (computer) magazine to stop concentrating on specs, i.e. a 10% faster processor doesn't make my staff type any faster, to instead write articles that would be more beneficial to the end user.

My example was to use multiple monitors as we had found that they increased productivity far more than a processor bump and all our machines had either 2 or 3, they liked it, made it letter of the month, and I won, drum roll please.....

A monitor!

Still gets used today over 10 years on.

never mind well done, this man deserves a medal to get a magazine to give such esteemed recognition to a Pentax.
A mighty HURRAH would be in order, and i know where he is coming from with the other half
odd lens or 2

Congratulations on winning! I actually would think that you would have won something somewhere much earlier, considering the high quality of your photos.
