Ace Cafe

Took a trip down to the Ace Cafe this morning and since my car is still in bits I cagged a lift with another Crossfire mate and thought I would use it as an excuse to take my camera out for the first time in over a month! Sod's Law came into play to ensure it was dull, gloomy and lashing down with rain! The other problem I always have at the Ace is that its's very hard to get a clean background - its either the Ace Cafe itself, random people and hi vis vests, parking cones or the North Circular complete with bus shelters and scruffy signs.

Here's a few shots, all with the K20D and 16-45, shot in RAW and processed in Aperture 3

I like shot no. 2. It sort of gives me the strange impression that the cars are impatiently waiting for the people to stop nattering and get on with it.

#3 for the way the Union Jack is painted on the bonnet and #4 for the figure of the Old Bill and the beginning of the word 'Mokey' next to it. Would have been my favourite if the word would have been cut of after the letter 'o' in the picture as imagination sometimes makes a picture complete (Thinking of the word 'Monkey' here with the figure of the Old Bill :lol.
Well done.
Kind regards

I am glad you mentioned the crop on #4 as I went against my original instinct to crop after the 'o', albeit the purpose being to place Old Bill in the right hand third of the frame for better composition. But I changed my mind and left in the complete word.

I've been there a few times. We do their burglar alarm. Unfortunately, never had my camera with me. Really intersting place, especially when they have all the bikes in.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys
